Minister Rev. Festus Umeojiego
Rev. Festus Umeojiego brings years of service and experience to Unity South. Reverend Festus served for almost 13 years as the Senior Minister of Unity Church in Woodbury from 1988 to September of 2001 before leaving to become the Senior Minister of Unity Church on the North Shore, Evanston, Illinois from June, 2002 to June, 2008. Reverend Festus always regarded Minnesota as his true home, so he and his wife, Joann Perry, maintained their Minnesota residence during those six years. Previously, Rev. Festus served in a ministry in Houston, Texas for five years which he assumed directly after his ordination.
Prior to ministry, Rev. Festus was an engineer in the automotive industry, in Detroit, Michigan. He holds masters degrees in both mechanical and nuclear engineering. Born in Nigeria, West Africa, he attended Manhattan College, a Catholic university, due to a generous full educational scholarship.
Rev. Festus once noted, “Nuclear science, especially in quantum theory, together with a spiritual base from Catholic teachings and my native understandings, have opened me to non-linear ways of conceiving reality, which I find consistent with spiritual thinking and growth.”
Rev. Festus brings his spiritual base to Unity principles in a unique way. Unity, much like current quantum theory, supports that there is a spark of Divinity in each and everyone of us.
