We are seeking a friendly, efficient and talented part-time administrator to run the office and daily operations of our growing faith community in Bloomington, Minnesota. This person is the weekday face and voice of Unity South Twin Cities and must be able to manage daily responsibilities and work with our members, visitors, vendors and staff in an effective, professional and positive manner. The successful candidate will be a seeker of excellence, and be ready to provide a wide range of general office duties, including:
Provide administrative support to staff (minister, education directors, music director, bookkeeper) and volunteer leaders as needed, including drafting quality letters and reports, as well as proof-reading and editing drafts provided by other staff prior to distribution.
Greet all visitors to the facilities in a professional and welcoming manner. Respond to their questions or needs appropriately.
Manage all routine communication – daily/weekly facebook posts, create/update weekly e-newsletter, create promotional materials for special events, classes, phone, voice mail, email, US mail.
Receive and respond appropriately to all incoming messages; create and distribute outgoing messages as needed.
Manage daily operations, carrying out of tasks such as copying, ordering of supplies and materials, creating sign-up forms, making phone calls or sending emails as requested, etc.
Collaborate with/supervise of volunteers.
Maintain open lines of communication with volunteer ministry leaders and other key volunteers in community.
Create Sunday bulletin each week and maintain communication and distribution of service materials with service volunteers.
Create bi-monthly newsletter (print and e-versions), and other marketing and PR pieces.
Coordinate congregational calendar to ensure no overbooking of space or resources.
Prepare the Annual Report and manage the official notification, sign-in process, and voting carried out at the Annual Meeting each March.
Maintain files and records fo all church business, understanding the need for confidentiality related to working in a church.
Maintain order throughout facility – straightening public areas, monitoring for issues to be reported to custodial or maintenance staff/volunteers, etc.
Work with bookkeeper to ensure all invoices are paid and deposits made.
Assist bookstore managers with book orders and other tasks as requested.

We seek a friendly, welcoming personality with ability to be flexible and manage multiple tasks smoothly and efficiently. Excellent Microsoft Office Skills required. Desktop publishing and website maintenance desired. Proactive attitude and willingness to help however asked. Organized and reliable. 3 – 5 years experience in similar position.
This person reports to the Minister on a day-to-day basis. Salary and time off are set by the board with the Ministers input. The position requires 20 hours per week with occasional additional hours during peak activity times (holidays or special events). Office hours are Monday - Thursday, 12 pm - 5 pm. Occasional evening and weekend hours required due to special events. Hourly wage commensurate with experience; expected range $17 - $20/hour.
