Building Opening News

and Invitation to Help

Dear Friends,

Your board has voted to reopen the church on Sunday, July 26. Beginning on this date, both Marlene Qualle and Rev. Stacey will lead the 9:00 and 10:30 services respectively.

We are also mindful of those who choose to avoid public gatherings  For those members of our community, we will continue live streaming of the 10:30 service

As we reopen our Unity South doors, we have developed safety guidelines following CDC and State of Minnesota requirements for places of faith.  In fact, we have gone beyond them. These guidelines are attached to this letter.  Please read them and help us follow them.

Help!  In order to observe social distancing between individuals and family groupings, we are asking for the assistance of greeters and ushers for each service.  We are also shortening the length of each service to 50 minutes in order to allow time between services for sanitizing the building  You are invited to call Vicki at 612-333-6060 to volunteer your help.

Blessings,

Rev James       Marlene Qualle    Vicki McFee, Board President

Unity South Update - Wednesday, April 1, 2020

Dear Unity South Community,

I have significant news to share with you on behalf of the Board of Directors.  In alignment with the country’s emergency health policies we will immediately expand our practice of “Social Distancing and Spiritual Connecting.”

On Sunday, March 22, we will suspend our Sunday Services until April 30th at least.  We will Live Stream and record the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service via Facebook Live. The video and audio of the live recorded session will be found on the website shortly after the service.

We will not gather in person in our building for Sunday morning services.

The Annual Membership Meeting scheduled for March 29 will be postponed until further notice.

These conditions do give our Unity South community the opportunity to build new and deeper forms of connection.  We can move through the coming days and weeks with kindness and grace.

This will be accomplished through the following:

Sunday 10:30 a.m. Service: Live Stream and recorded.

Prayer Services: M-Th 11:00 a.m. will continue but cannot exceed 10 people in the Sanctuary.  You can contact Silent Unity 24/7: 816-969-2000 or unity.org/prayer for prayer support.

New weekly E-blasts on Tuesdays and Thursdays will bring updates and inspirational content for your support.

How can we help one another?  A phone chain will be built.  Let the office know if you are willing to call others periodically.

Keep in touch with the church office (952-884-6656) which will remain open: M-Th, 12 Noon to 5:00 p.m.

We are grateful for your continuing financial support of Unity South.  You may mail contributions to 7950 1st Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55420 or use this link for credit card donations:  Donate

We are thinking of you,
Reverend James Stacey and the Board of Directors

Perhaps our Unity South Centering Statement takes on enhanced meaning:

Centered in God (our Source),

Assured by Faith (in Christ within),

and Prospered by Divine Love; (all needs are being met through our collective compassion and acts of kindness)

We boldly move forward to serve humanity by (Social distancing and Spiritual Connecting)

Building our lives, and Unity South Church, together. (We are better together!)
